Donations & Volunteering

Market Square Day Race TeamOur greatest examples of how to get involved in our community come from our employees, who give back all year long. Irving employees in Portsmouth support the community with events like United Way of the Greater Seacoast’s Day of Caring, providing much needed maintenance to local not for profit organizations, through annual Summer and Winter Food Drives, and by adopting families through Families First during the holiday season. Our Saint John employees built a house with Habitat for Humanity, volunteer year round at Saint John the Baptist-King Edward Elementary School and participate in events like CIBC Run for the Cure.

Irving Oil Marketing also believes in supporting programs that benefit our community and our employees. That’s why, in our New England headquarters region, we sponsor The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s Books Alive! Program and year round family events organized by ProPortsmouth, like First Night, Children’s Day and Market Square Day. And we are regular participants in Irving sponsored events in the Saint John area.

This year, we supported five local non-profit organizations in both the US and Canada through our community grant program. This program offers non-profit organizations that focus on either education, environment, or community needs the opportunity to apply for grants worth up to $15,000.

The awarded organizations in the US are:
Children's Friend - Providence RI - an organization that serves children and families in need. Their goal is to ensure that young, vulnerable children arrive at school each day ready to learn and succeed.

Spectrum Youth & Family Services - Burlington VT - their mission is to empower teens and young adults with a history of violence to make and sustain positive changes through prevention, intervention and learning new life skills.

Mystic Valley Elder Services - Malden MA - their mission is to support the rights of elders to live independently in a setting of their own choice by providing information, advice and access to quality services and resources.

The awarded organizations in Canada are:
Boys & Girls Clubs of St. John's - St. John's NL - their goal is to deliver accessible, quality programs and services that are designed to enhance the quality of life and the development of children and youth.

Clean Annapolis River Project - Annapolis Royal NS - an organization that works to promote awareness and foster the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of the marine and freshwater ecosystems of the Annapolis River watershed.
